  • 4. What is the difference between a standard HEPA filter and the IQ HyperHEPA filter?
    All HEPA filters are tested, measured and held to the standard filtration rate of 99.97% of all particles 0.3 microns and larger. This is the U.S. HEPA standard, but in the EU, there are actually different levels of HEPA that use particles 0.22 or smaller as the baseline size. The majority of ultrafine particles are actually even smaller than 0.3 microns, so the HyperHEPA filters have been designed to filter particles as small as 0.003 microns and can remove 100 times more allergens than regular air cleaners. For specific filtration rates of each type of HEPA filter IQ uses in each of its air purifiers, please refer to the specifications chart on each product page.
  • 6. How many filters do the IQAir HealthPro series air purifiers use?
    Both the IQAir HealthPro and the HealthPro Compact include a HyperHEPA filter which absorbs 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns and a PreMax Pre-Filter which can remove over half of all particles 0.3 microns or larger, before they even reach the HEPA filter. The IQAir HealthPro also has an optional V5 filter, which uses 5 lbs. of blended activated carbon for gaseous chemical and odor control. The IQAir HealthPro Plus comes standard with the IQAir patented HyperHEPA filtration, PreMax pre-filter, and a V-5 Cell Gas and Odor filter.
  • 8. How do I know when to change the filters?
    Each unit comes equipped with a digital monitor that lets you know when it is time to replace the filters. The topside control panel has lights labeled F1, F2, and F3. Green light indicates the filters are good. Once the light turns orange, this is an indication that the filter is down to 20% of its effective life. A red light indicates it is time to replace the filter, NOW. Specific replacement times for each individual filter varies, but generally prefilters will have to be changed first, then carbon filter or cartridges and lastly, HEPA filters. ​ If you’re not using your IQAir air purifier, there are a couple things to keep in mind. While not in use, HEPA and prefilters will pick up right where they left, meaning unless you’re actually using the machine, the filters are basically in holding pattern. This isn’t so with carbon filters. Even if you’re not using your machine, activated carbon will continue to pull in pollutants from the air around it. So over time, these filters will very slowly continue to adsorb pollutants, and when you begin actively using your machine again, the filter life will not be as long as listed on the control panel. If you know you won’t be using your machine for a longer period of time, you can keep carbon filters “fresher” by sealing them away in a plastic bag. This can eliminate any air flowing through them and dramatically decrease or even stop the adsorption process.
  • 2. How quiet is an IQAir Air Purifier?

  • 9. How do I change the filters in the IQAir Air Purifiers?
    Changing the filters for any IQAir unit is simple. Every IQAir purifier features a revolutionary modular tower design which snaps open to allow easy access to all filters in a matter of seconds. Disconnect the system from the power supply before opening the unit. Then simply un-snap the arms of the unit, and remove the segment holding the filter(s) you want to replace. Pull out the dirty filter, replace with a clean one, and snap back into place. Replacing a filter has never been easier!

  • 5. What particles do the IQAir Air Purifiers remove?
    Each IQAir air purifier filters out harmful airborne allergens like mold spores, pollen, animal dander, dust, and tobacco smoke from your indoor air. Additionally, you can upgrade many of the IQAir air purifier models to include protection against gaseous chemicals, fumes, odors, and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), with additional filters. So regardless of your filtration needs, there is an IQAir to meet them.
  • 10. How many filters are included in the IQAir Commercial grade air purifiers?
    IQAir features a few commercial grade air purifiers, including the GCX models as well as the IQAir Dental Pro and the IQAir Cleanroom H13. The IQAir Cleanroom H13 includes a 75 sq. ft. mini-pleat fine dust pre-filter and a 81 sq. ft. HyperHEPA filter. The IQAir Dental Series air purifiers contain one HEPA-style pre-filter, two Mercury Cartridges, two Multi Gas Cartridges, and four post-filter sleeves.
  • 13. Does my air purifier come with casters?
    This has changed from the past, so now ALL IQAir air purifiers come with casters that can be installed when you receive the machine. The ONLY machine that now lacks casters is the H13 Clean Room air purifier.
  • 7. How many filters does the IQAir GC or GCX air purifier use?
    IQAir offers several GC and GCX air purifiers to choose from, including the IQAir GC VOC, IQAir GC Multi-Gas, IQAir GC Chemisorber, and IQAir GC AM. For each, they also offer GCX versions of these air purifiers, which have even larger filter cartridges and are best suited for larger, commercial spaces that require specialized gas, odor, vapor and smoke control. Each IQAir GC Series air purifier focuses on specific filtration needs and contains three stages of air filtration. The IQAir MultiGas GC Series air purifiers include one HEPA-type pre-filter, four specialized gas cartridges and four post-filter sleeves to effectively capture a broad range of airborne pollutants.
  • 1. Do the IQAir Air Purifiers produce ozone?
    No. Ozone is a powerful lung irritant that is produced by other air purifiers and ozone generators but not in the IQAir air purifiers. IQAir purifiers do not generate any ozone so you can enjoy fresh, ozone-free air every time you use your air cleaner. All units are certified with the IAACM (International Association of Air Cleaner Manufacturers) and are approved by the California Air Resource Board (CARB), which maintains stricter air quality and ozone emissions standards for home appliances in California than even the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
  • 12. Are IQAir HEPA Air Purifiers effective for individuals with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity?

  • 14. What type of warranty comes with the IQAir Air Purifiers?
    Depending on the model you choose, IQAir units are covered by a one, two, or five year warranty. IQAir warranties provide protection against defects in material or workmanship, but do not cover misuse or abuse of the unit nor filters. Please check with the respective office.
  • 3. How much energy do the IQAir Air Purifiers use?
    Even though they are powerful machines, each model is extremely energy efficient. IQ Air air purifiers achieve outstanding energy efficiency by including a very efficient fan and an advanced fan control set-up in every unit. As a result, it costs only pennies a day to run them. Typically power consumption for each model ranges from 27W on low to 215W on the highest setting.
  • 11. What is the difference between an IQAir GC and GCX air purifier?
    Both models are nearly identical, but the main differences between comparable GC and GCX models are the amount of filter media and size. GCX units, overall, contain more filter media than comparable GC models and are best used in commercial or industrial filtration settings. This means a few things. First, GCX models can run longer on the same set of filters, so replacement is less frequent. GCX models also have a slightly higher CFM since they have to push the air through more filter material and overall, are taller (to accommodate larger filter canisters). With this larger size comes a slightly higher price, but aside from one model being larger than the other, they are very similar machines in terms of performance. ​

  • What is the exchange policy and processes?
    All goods sold are non-refundable & non-exchangeable. ​ Exchange must be done within seven (7) working days starting from the day the goods are delivered to you.
